As I mentioned in my last blog post, there will be a total of four posts about my Walt Disney World trip; this one being the second! If you want to learn about the Disney Resort I stayed at, information on Magic Bands, the Disney Magical Express, and the MyDisneyExperience App, click here. Otherwise, keep reading to find out more about my day at EPCOT! 🌎✨
If you stay at a Disney Resort, transportation to and from the parks is the last thing you need to worry about! 🚌 The Disney Transport Bus picks up resort guests every 20 minutes to one of the four desired parks, starting 45 minutes before the park opens. Resort guests can also take advantage of Extra Magic Hours; a park opens early or closes late on certain days. You can find out which parks open early or close late on the Walt Disney World website. 🎠
We got to Epcot around 10am. Security was quick and simple, however, I thought that they would be more thorough because of all the incidences with guns lately. But, other than that, we didn’t have to wait long in the heat. 🌞
Our first fastpass was for Spaceship Earth, which is a calm and slow ride. For those who despise rollercoasters, this is perfect for you. You learn about the origins of communication from the Stone Age to today! It’s quite interesting if you’re into that kind of stuff. 😄
We then rode The Seas with Nemo and Friends, which was a super adorable ride! It is very similar to Disney California Adventure’s The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, if you’ve ridden that! You sit in a shell and move through certain scenes of the movie! The visual effects and animatronics are actually quite impressive, and it makes this slow ride enjoyable. After you get off the ride, you get to view multiple aquariums with a bunch of different fishies!!! 🐠 I love beautiful walkthroughs like this, it’s very calming and a great break if you want to get out of Florida’s humidity.
We then took some pictures with everyone’s favorite marshmallow of a robot – Baymax! We didn’t have to wait that long (probably because it was still before noon), but no matter the wait, I think having pictures with Baymax is worth it! 💕
We left Epcot – Future World and spent most of the rest of the day at the World Showcase, where you can see a little bit of 11 different countries (Canada, United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, The Great American Adventure, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico)! There are also ferries available, near the Showcase Plaza for you to board that takes you to the different countries, or like us, you could walk there! 😝
We went straight to Japan because my sister and I love everything kawaii, and we also wanted to eat at a restaurant there called Tokyo Dining. However, the restaurant didn’t open until 12, so we had 20 minutes to spare. We walked around Japan and stumbled upon this small room. A lady was handing out Duffy fans for free! She asked for my name and wrote it in Japanese on the back side of the fan. She then said that we could collect stamps from all the countries here at the World Showcase! 🐻 We spent the 20 minutes coloring the Duffy fans and then went to eat. 😋
Tokyo Dining is a restaurant connected to another restaurant called Teppan Edo. The servers of Tokyo Dining are very nice, maybe even too nice if you aren’t used to a waitress/waiter coming to your table often. The service to me was absolutely fine though, and the food was good! Our food came out promptly, and the fish tasted fresh! Lunch specials were offered when we came in for $19, and it came with miso soup, entree, and ice cream! My mum and my sister ordered lunch specials, while I ordered a couple sushi rolls. Everything was delicious, and we were full for most of the day. 🍱🍣
We then decided to get stamps from each country (because why not?) to keep as a free and super cute souvenir. All you have to do is stop by each Kidcot Fun Stop in each country and ask the cast member handing out fans to stamp it! They also draw something for you or write your name in a different language! 😊
While we got the stamps, we admired the buildings of each country, and we also took pictures with a few characters like Belle (France), Jasmine (Morocco), Donald (Mexico), and Pluto (Showcase Plaza)! 👑 Here are a few pictures I took as I walked through the World Showcase (no particular order).
I definitely underestimated how big Epcot is. We got tired walking around the World Showcase. We would stop at each of the gift shops in each country and rest because it’s actually super cold in each of them. We would also buy souvenirs along the way. 🎁
In my (maybe unpopular) opinion, Epcot was not as fantastic as I thought it would be. It was more like a giant gift shop in my eyes. 👛 I mean, it was cool that there’s a little bit of 11 different countries that you could experience, and the architecture of the buildings are quite beautiful, but I wasn’t super amazed by the park overall. However, we ended up not riding Mission Space, which apparently is an absolute must. BUT, I’m not good with enclosed spaces and my sister is not a fan of intense rides. So, a couple slow rides, the characters, World Showcase, gift shops, and etc. were all I really got to experience at Epcot. 😅 The cast members were also not as nice as the ones at Disneyland and California Adventure. This though, only applies to Epcot; the cast members at every other park at Walt Disney World were as sweet as can be!
Nevertheless, my family and I still had a lot of good memories and laughs, and we would still go back to visit because it is a beautiful place! 🌺
Thanks for reading. ♡
